- all members are accepted automatically
- if your work was requested, please join/watch us!

- submissions must be of high quality and contain non-human animal(s), plant(s), or fungi/lichen. We do not accept fantasy animals, unless they are only altered in minor ways from the real animal (e.g. larger, different color, wings).
- we do not accept submissions that contain humans, unless it is just a hand or some other small part
- we will accept animals in fantasy scenarios (such as animals wearing clothes or doing human activities), but only if the animals depicted still look like actual animals
- we only accept high quality work
- we only accept works that have a proper photograph or scan taken of them
- we do not accept WIPs
- if you remove your work from this group without explanation, we may ban you from the group
- we understand that we have a lot of folders. If you really don't know what folder it goes in, just drop it in and we will move it to the proper folder. However, please be aware that we concentrate on non-photographic works, so if you are submitting photography, please submit to the "Photography" folder. Thanks!
- there is a daily limit of 4 submissions
- we reserve the right to decline any submissions. You will not receive an explanation why because I run 12 groups and do not have time to explain, but try not to take it personally. We may even accept some of your submissions and reject others.
- please feel free to submit other people's works from your favorites folders. We would appreciate it!

- we focus mainly on other forms of traditional art but will accept beautifully composed photographs
- please submit photography ONLY to the "Photography" folder

- input and suggestions are always welcome

I apologize that I have not been around much. I have been starting my own business from the ground up. I will try to get to my groups more often than I have been (twice a month) and I am in the works of getting more people to be able to accept or reject works. Thank you to the majority of you who have been so patient and supportive. I very much appreciate it and I hope you are all having a happy, love-filled life :)
Traditional art contest : Unzip Your Genes
Deadline: 1st of July
Prizes: Commissions, features and points
What beauty do you find in natural sciences? Be crazy and creative, express your thoughts! You can base your entry on realistic illustrations or completely surreal or sci-fiction ideas, deliver them in any style or format, there are no limitations for your imagination or technique as long as it is traditional!
More details:…
My apologies for the slow activity lately, everyone. I have been having some lifestyle changes that include an additional job and physical therapy. Things may be slow for awhile longer, but the group will never be abandoned. If I get to a point where I can't manage all the groups anymore, this would be one that I would keep. Thanks for your understanding and I apologize for any inconvenience
We are excited to announce a new contest with dAhub!  Not only can you win a one year premium membership, but we can get a one year group subscription too!  Joining this contest is really easy, check it out:…

All you have to do is upload a new deviation that depicts what our group is about.  You must include a link to this journal in your submission, otherwise your work won't be accepted.  Once you have your work uploaded, submit it to dAhubPLUS here:… before March 15th

Everyone else should watch :icondahub: and then vote for our group's entries during the voting period in March!
The time for submissions to the Second International Arts for Animal Rights Contest (IARC) has just started! Your challenge is to create (or offer, if already made from or after April 2012) a nice piece of art supporting animal rights. Do your best to show to the world the importance of respecting ALL the animals! YouŽll likely focus on just one or some of them, but I mean, please choose an animal that people usually are not respecting.

As last year, every kind of technique will be accepted. The deadline for submissions is March 31st. It means, you have 2 whole months to work on this. And the winners are expected to be announced in April 2013.

The prizes will be at least a Premium Membership (or equivalent dA points), a watercolor or gouache comission I can do for you and special highlights during the 2013 Brazilian Arts for Animal Rights Exhibit (and maybe in an event in Japan too).

You can submit up to 3 artworks and no mature content is allowed. If and when youŽre ready to submit your artwork, please comment on the original journal of my profile, where you can find all the information about the contest:…

When people were conditioned to eat certain animal species and are convinced it was normal, natural and necessary, they’ll always find something to justify it. This invisible belief system or ideology is called carnism.

We were taught to love dogs, cats and other pets, but many people were trained to live with a “gap of consciousness” that makes them see meat as food, not as a piece of a dead animal. Carnism prevents people from seeing cattle, pigs, chickens or fish as living, breathing individuals with a mind and personality. This belief system is so widespread and entrenched in many cultures that it’s considered to be "the way things are" instead of being questioned.

Many people aren’t aware of the ghastly ecological and social consequences of meat consumption, but without awareness, we cannot make free choices.

Here you can read more about carnism (official website): [link]
